A bit of peace ...

1982 was (in the era before Lena), the last Grand Prix, which was corroborated by a German interpreter in first place . Nicole won with the song: "A little peace"
This was during the storm and stress years of the peace movement, it has become calmer.. Still the peace is at a premium, just think what there is everything connected with peace. Since there are peace movements (still), peace agreements, peace offerings, peace missions. There is also Justice of the Peace, peace conferences, peace doves and Nobel Peace Prizes. If all else fails, one resorts to peace pipe.

Peace is a desire that man carries in himself, since he has lost paradise. But what is peace?

A competition was announced, "Peace" to paint. Countless paintings reached the jury, after a thorough examination two pictures for the final round allowed.
One picture showed a lovely, quiet lake, surrounded by high mountains. The mountains were reflected in the waters of the lake as the little clouds that were in the blue sky. A work of art of calm and balance. Each observer was only one word to mind: peace.
On the other picture a lake in sight. White water whipped up by rain and wind. Dark, bare, jagged mountains surrounding the lake. Were chased by the storm clouds over the peaks of the mountains. Lightning flashed and you could hear when watching most of the thunder. Between the mountains there is a roaring waterfall spilling into the depths. Where was the peace? Only on closer inspection noticed the jury on a bush, had found in the rock wall behind the waterfall stop. In the bush a bird had built its nest and the mother bird sat on her nest in perfect peace and quiet.

have both images right to the prize. From a Christian perspective, however, the second picture the concept of peace hits better. Jesus says in John 14:27 and 16:33

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you.
not I give to you as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled
let it be afraid. ... I have spoken to you,
that you may have peace in me. In the world you have tribulation;
but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

The peace of God is not the absence of distress, worries or problems, not even a world of strangeness that gives us the impression of floating in a different sphere. The peace of God is a being borne and a shelteredness amid the thunder and lightning of life. A "Come to rest" by the consciousness of the presence of Jesus.

The is not a peace based on contracts or is subject to conditions. There is no peace on the model of the world. It is a divine peace - from the Prince of Peace, Jesus!
